Wiz Khalifa Violently Arrested For Legally Riding Hovercraft At LAX
Rapper Wiz Khalifa was slammed to the ground by 7 grown police men and arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday after he refused to get off his hoverboard.
“Haven’t been slammed and cuffed in a while. That was fun,” he tweeted, along with a photo and video of the incident.
He also posted a video to Instagram in which over three officers can be seen holding him to the ground. The officers repeatedly tell Khalifa, whose legal name is Cameron Thomaz, to “stop resisting” as he responds, “I’m not resisting.”
Police say he was resisting arrest but the Video shows differently. Several news stations have tried to reach the airport for comments but have so far been ignored.
An unidentified gunman opened fire on a Detroit basketball court shooting 10 people attending a block party. A 20 year old male victim been confirmed dead, though his identity is not being released at this time.
The timing of the shooting is nearly simultaneous with the occurrence of another random shooting in west Philadelphia where an unidentified gunman attacked a street picnic, shooting 7 attendees. A 2 year old child and a 10 year old child were amongst the victims.
The mass shootings come less than 3 days after Dylann Storm Roof, a white supremacist, massacred 9 African-American churchgoers at Emanuel AME in Charleston. No information about either gunman have yet been released.
On June 7, Bowers, who was described by her grandmother to local news as having a “beautiful smile” and a “beautiful heart to match,” was sexually assaulted, strangled and burned to death by two men in her home.
According to theBaltimore Sun, Adonay Dixon, 23, and John Childs, 20, killed Bowers after she awoke while they were robbing her grandmother’s house. The Baltimore Sun also reported the assailants stole items from the home; It seems the cost of Bowers life was $40, an iPad and a laptop.
Though heart-wrenching, the case has been largely lost amid the media storm surrounding former Spokane, Washington, NAACP president Rachel Dolezal, a white woman who has publicly identified as black. Some critics say the comparative lack of attention to actual violence against a young black woman points to the continued lack of value placed on black girls’ lives in the U.S.
